About All Ways Australia

From Chinkapook to Cock Wash, and from Doo Town to Tittybong

All Ways Australia is a web site that will bring you on a year long trip working and traveling throughout Australia. Follow us on every form of transportation, while working in every different type of job that we can find.

What's in a name?
Now finding a name for this site was quite task, as there are several slogans that where in the running. Some of which included:
The Great Loop, 12 months Sydney to Sydney, The Wizard of Aus, and The Kangaroos and Didgeridoos Tour.

How are we going to do it?

Do to Australia's amazing tourist programs, Americans, Brits, Kiwi's and many others under the age of 30 are eligible for the Work And Holiday or the Working Holiday Program. This allows the person 12 months to work anywhere in the whole of Australia, which is what we shall do.

The visa is easy enough to apply for and only costs $206 USD. My Visa was granted within about 6 hours of applying for it online. Find more info on getting your Australia Working Holiday Visa.

Next, you have to get there, which we will be arriving in Sydney on February 1st, 2011. Day one of the trip will include much resting, drinking, laughing, crying and probably more laughing. After that it is time to get down to business.

Stay tuned for more updates about this year long journey through the outback.

My History with Australia

As an American with basic knowledge of Australia, it is no wonder someone can be drawn to spend a serious amount of time there. I mean, come on, they have kangaroos, and according to all of the drawing I have found they also wear boxing gloves.

Besides that, my Australia teachings have come from the likes of Crocodile Dundee, Bad Boy Bubby and more recently, Kangaroo Jack. And if those pieces of cinematic brilliance have any bearing on what I might expect, then I had better be prepared.

Why Australia?

Australia has always had a pull on me, as it sits there on the lower right hand corner of all of my maps. Just hanging out South of Asia. There it sat illuding me, being the most expensive place to travel and longest to get to in terms of flight miles.

Then having worked onboard cruise ships Australia was always the place I was least likely to go as so few ships went there and the ships who do make that trip are hardest to demand as that itinerary is in high demand by the crew.

But now, I have an opportunity to travel to Australia and work for up to 12 months. Anyone can do this by acquiring the Australia work and holiday visa.

As I make my way around the country, this website will be a place for photographs of the trip. As well, all photos will be available for sale at the All Ways Australia Store.

So please feel free to stop back as often as you like and tell your friends about us on Facebook.

How can you afford this?
For starters, if you want something really bad, it is easy to save money. As well, we work along the way at whatever odd jobs the next city has waiting for us. This site earns revenue with affiliate networking through Amazon. So if you have to buy anything online, please use one of the links from this website to direct you there. What little proceeds are earned help maintain the site, pay for hosting and keep things running.

Or if, you are really interested, there are other ways to show your support.

If you are looking for advertising information or to become part of the Travel Droppings Network (TRN), please contact Travel Droppings. We are all in this together and we love to work with like minded independent travel sites.

Enjoy the show.
